About CC's Dairy Bar

Hi, my name is Carl. I’m the owner of CC’s Dairy Bar, and I’m also a self-proclaimed “ice cream connoisseur.” 

Whether it be soft-serve or hard-dip, or even an ice cream novelty, I have eaten ice cream almost every single day in my adult life! Sometimes it’s a quick sundae or a shake through the local fast-food drive-thru. Sometimes it’s a fun novelty on a stick from the ice cream truck on a hot summer day. Sometimes it’s à la mode with dessert after dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. Sometimes it’s a treat to enjoy while attending a special event or visiting an amusement park. Sometimes it’s just a scoop… or two… of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge while I’m enjoying a little late-night TV in bed.

What can I say? I love ice cream! I’ve always dreamed of having my own ice cream shop and that dream finally came true when I was given the opportunity to purchase a successful self-serve fro-yo/custard shop in downtown New Baltimore, Michigan, across from the waterfront park. Formerly known as Emersons by the Bay, the Meech family put their hearts and souls into bringing this tasty addition to the downtown just four years earlier, and I was beyond excited to carry on the new tradition.

That was 2020. I’d like to say, “the rest is history,” but soon after the purchase, the COVID pandemic changed everything… making self-serve restaurants a thing of the past. I was bound and determined to make it work, even with new strict food service regulations put into effect, so I decided to open CC’s Dairy Bar as a full-service ice cream shop.

I hired some of the friendliest, most outgoing, and hardworking employees anyone’s ever known, and we made it work! It was the same great fro-yo and custard, and the same great topping bar, but now WE served the customers, rather than the customers serving themselves. We even extended the menu to offer more tasty treats for our customers to enjoy, including handmade pizza and shakes and even fresh-popped popcorn.

Fast-forward to 2022, when CC’s Dairy Bar underwent some exciting renovations to bring a new and improved customer experience to New Baltimore residents and visitors alike. We changed the layout of the shop to make it easier to enjoy all our delicious food and drinks and to offer additional seating as well. We added an espresso bar and hard-dip ice cream, expanding our menu yet again to offer yummy coffee creations, including CC’s own cold brew.
